Dianella tasmanica

Tasmanian Flax Lily

Plant photo of: Dianella tasmanica
Information by: PlantMaster        Photographer:

Description

A grass-like plant with strap leaf foliage to 30" tall and even wider, this perennial has finely serrated margins. This flax lily has deep blue flowers that bloom in spring, followed by dark, metallic blue berries in summer. It will grow well and perhaps become invasive in coastal areas with full sun. However, it will do well in dry shade where it is less likely to become a problem. It looks great in containers.
